Album Release: Bebe Donkey
My friends and ex-school-mates at Mills College, Antoine Berthiaume and MaryClare Brzytwa, recently released an an album on Ambiances Magnetique.
I helped out as engineer on some of the tracks. It is a very interesting record of effected guitar, processed flute, and additional. Both Antonine and Mary Clare are well versed at both their instruments, and in electronic textures. The sections of the record I engineered were recorded at Asphodel Studios in San Francisco; and we did some pretty nice sounding re-amplification of the electronic sounds live, giving the sound a lot of air. The Neve and other analog gear also helped out a lot in this respect of “warming up” the sound.
The record was mixed by Norman Teale, and mastered by Myles Boysen, both also from the Bay Area.
If you like amorphous electronic ambiance, I urge you to pick this one up.
