WinterSolstice (2007)

The Sounds Themselves (2006) - Another textural ambient environment, experimenting with sounds that are more visceral.

Resolution.1 (2006) - A textural, granular, improvisation for P5 Glove. Originally in quad multichannel. Performance recorded at Mills College 3/30/06.

Storm Corridor is an sonic, site specific, installation, co-conceived and produced with composer Zachary Watkins. Sound is fed from other sites on location, processed spectrally, and then diffused throughout the space through an array of plastic bottles. The resonant frequencies and harmonics of the plastic bottles filter the incoming sound, and excite the bottles. These resonances are then moved between bottles to achieve a textural effect. This recording is from the space around Corridor being explored with binaural microphones.

Duo - An improvised duo with Eli Wise (guitar). Textural washes of sound, and rich noise grains, juxtaposed with melodic electric guitar. Performed at Mills College 12/1/05.

String Quartet (2005) - A string quartet based on a graphical score. Players affect the score by choosing their paths through it.

Storm Cells (2005) - An exploration of cellular automata based music. Textures are entirely realized from cellular based processes, from a variety of sources.

Spiderweb Clarity (2004) - An emergent soundscape, built on a sample of wind chimes.

Leaf Focus (2004) - An ambient peice made specifically for diffusion. Subharmonics ground the peice, and create a foundation for placing the listener in a convincing space .

Decay (2004) - A SuperCollider composition created with a granular sampler and a female vocal sample. Layers are added until the processor overloads. Recorded at Mills College 12/18/04.

Fake It to Make It (2004) - Composed by Zack Watkins, Paul Scriver, and Barry Threw. A text based composition, for Bass Clarinet (Scriver), MAX/Msp with P5 Glove control (Threw), and a Balinese instrument with contact mic (Watkins). Text source is anonymous. Oncoming Subway InnerLight (2003) - A dynamic sound object, evolving throughout the course of the piece. Inner harmony and timbre shifts emerge as the sound evolves.

Music

“Time is the substance from which I am made. Time is a river which carries me along, but I am the river; it is a tiger that devours me, but I am the tiger; it is a fire that consumes me, but I am the fire.”

-- Borges
